Spokane family remembers fallen soldier

SPOKANE, Wash. -  A fallen soldier was honored Tuesday in Spokane. 

The Inland Northwest Patriot Guard escorted Sgt. James Craig from Fairchild Air Force Base to Heritage Funeral Home on Government Way.

Sgt. Craig was killed when an improvised explosive device hit his convoy on Jan. 28th, 2008 in Mosul, Iraq. Four of his fellow soldiers were also killed in the incident.
This was his third tour of duty in Iraq.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalian, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, in Fort Carson, Colorado.  He had been home in July 2007 where he was married to Natalie.  He leaves behind his wife, and four sisters.

Sgt. Craig's father says he loved his family, his country, and most of all, God. 

His father said "he believed that what he was doing there in Iraq was the right thing to do, and we supported him in that...knowing the risk."

His funeral has been set for Saturday Feb. 9th at 2pm at Fourth Memorial Church

The causing driver who was transported to the hospital is in custody for vehicular homicide. There were no other occupants of either vehicle.

    COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - A therapist at Kootenai Behavior Health is accused of having sex with an underage patient "hundreds of times" according to court documents. He's been charged with rape and sexual abuse, and is currently on administrative leave from the hospital during the investigation.
