Obama promotes ecology, climate, green tech in Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash. - Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama made a speech about his environmental priorities during a speech Friday morning at a construction-engineering firm known for its "green" technology.

Obama talked about making changes that would encourage businesses like the McKinstry company.

Obama says he would raise fuel standards for cars, set a cap on carbon emissions, invest in biofuels and new technology.

In response to a question, Obama said nuclear would not be a long-term power solution until safety and storage problems are resolved.

Obama's next stop is a rally at the Key Arena at the Seattle where a crowd of 20,000 or more is expected.
