TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Jared Karstetter scored 18 points, Erick Cheadle added 17 and DeAngelo Casto had another great defensive game as Ferris beat Edmonds-Woodway 59-47 Thursday in a quarterfinal game at the Class 4A boys tournament.
It was the 56th straight win for the Saxons (27-0), who are looking to defend their state title. Casto, a 6-foot-8 senior, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked seven shots. He has 13 blocks through two days. He also scored nine points. Karstetter was 5 of 9 from the field and Cheadle hit four 3-pointers for the Saxons.
Ferris never trailed and outscored Edmonds-Woodway 22-4 at the free-throw line. The Warriors (21-5) were led by the 14 points and nine rebounds of Connor Donaldson. Sean Laue chipped in 10 points and grabbed six rebounds.
