Tiny Toes

My best friend is a nanny for a little girl who was selected as a photo gallery winner last November for "Pediped" footwear (http://www.pediped.com/).   I remember seeing the photo and thinking that Ava was such a doll, and the shoes weren't bad-looking either.   Today, the e-mail I received from my friend re-surfaced, and I re-discovered these shoes.  Turns out, they're officially recognized by the American Pediatric Medical Association and according to the site, appear to be pretty good for little feet!  I'm still trying to decide which pair I want for Victor.

We have our monthly doctor's appointment this afternoon, so Billy and I sat down this morning and made a list to take with us.  It seems to really help in remembering all the little things we want to ask/talk about with our doctor.  There are so many questions we have, and writing them down really does make a difference.

We actually see two doctors - two OB-GYNs who share a practice.   We're very happy with the whole set-up so far (we're meeting the 2nd doctor for the first time today), and are very glad that two doctors gives us a better chance of having Victor delivered by someone we know, rather than just "one of the doctors on duty" (which is one of my many fears).

As a little homemade project, I've purchased a few packs of white onesies and some print-able iron-on sheets.  I've started collecting pictures from the Internet to print and iron onto the onesies.   This way, we can have stylish or quirky onesies that you can't find anywhere else!

I recommend the "print-n-press" brand iron-ons (they seem to last the longest and have the best finish).   Remember to follow the directions VERY CAREFULLY, and to flip the picture before your print it (otherwise, your words will turn out backwards).   ALSO - read VERY carefully about the washing instructions and the chemicals in the iron-ons.  Some brands may not be baby-safe.

So far, I have found cool images of Roosevelt Franklin (one of my favorite characters from Sesame Street), Stevie Ray Vaughan (Billy's favorite bluesman), and photos from "Bugsy Malone" (my favorite movie from my childhood).

I made a bunch of these onesies for a friend of mine when she had her daughter (she was probably the only little girl in Coeur d'Alene wearing a Jeff Probst (from Survivor) onesie).  They make great homemade baby-shower gifts that you can personalize to mom or dad's style!
