SAN DIEGO, Calf. - On Wednesday KHQ confirmed former Gonzaga assistant coach Bill Grier will remain at the University of San Diego.
On Tuesday Grier addressed a report made on an Oregon Newspaper's website reporting he had accepted the head coaching job at Oregon State University. Grier left Gonzaga one year ago to take over as head basketball coach at the University of San Diego.
Grier told NBC affiliate KNSD, "I have met and talked to them," Grier said before the team's banquet. "There is a discussion and there's a feeling-out process going, I think, between both parties, and that's where it stands right now. That's really all the further it's gone, and I am still the basketball coach at the University of San Diego.".
Grier led the Torres to a 22-14 record and a first round win in the NCAA tournament this season.
