President orders troop withdrawal halt
WASHINGTON DC- In a speech made to the American people Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m., President Bush has ordered a halt in U.S. troop withdrawals from Iraq after July. In his speech to the American people, President Bush warns Iran to stop interfering in Iraq or America will act to "protect its interests."
The President has also ordered Army units heading to Iraq to serve 12-month tours rather than 15-month tours because of heavy strain on the military.
Bush called on the international community to "increase its engagement with Iraq."
The President added that he would veto any war-funding bill that orders timeline for U.S. troop withdrawals or exceeds his spending goal.
