LAS VEGAS, Nev. - A 26-year-old entrepeneur from Texas is the new Miss USA.
Crystle Stewart of Missouri City, Texas, beat out beauty queens from the 49 other states and the District of Columbia to take home the title in Friday night's competition in Las Vegas. Last year's Miss USA, Rachel Smith, passed the crown on to Stewart during the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Stewart models professionally and also runs a party-planning and motivational speaking company. She says she wants to dedicate her life to international philanthropy.
Stewart goes on to compete in the Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam in July. She also becomes a spokeswoman for breast and ovarian cancer awareness and other causes, while traveling to promote the organization.
