EWU receiver will miss four months with torn shoulder

CHENEY - Eastern Washington University wide receiver Aaron Boyce is expected to miss the next four months, after undergoing surgery today to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder.  The rising junior suffered the injury during Saturday's scrimmage in Cheney.

"Everything I heard from his father this morning, the surgery went really well," said Eagles Head Coach Beau Baldwin.

"The best thing is, we got the surgery done right away this week.  I don't foresee him missing any part of the season.  And if he does at all, it would be early, early season."

Boyce was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press in 2007, after finishing his sophomore season with 85 receptions for 1308 yards and ten touchdowns.

EWU will hold its annual Red-White Scrimmage at 2:00pm on Saturday at Woodward Field.  They'll open the regular season on August 30th at Texas Tech.
