CATALDO, Idaho - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Coeur d'Alene River at Catalodo, affecting Kootenai and Shoshone Counties.
Melting snow and rainfall in the mountains of the Idaho Panhandle is expected to create rising waters through early Thursday morning. The most significant rises are anticipated to happen in Cataldo, though levels are expected to recede Thursday as colder and drier air moves in behind a strong cold front.
By Wendesday morning water levels had reached 42.2 feet in the area. Officials said they anticipated flooding from Cataldo to Harrison if levels reached 43 feet.
