SPOKANE, Wash. - Thursday night we caught up with a local establishment that is giving bands a chance to fight it out on the stage. Three local bands took the stage at the Blvd. in downtown Spokane in the latest final round portion of the Peak Showcase Series. The Peak Showcase Series is for local musicians. Bands compete in a preliminary round competition and then move on to a final round competition, which was Thursday and the grand prize winner gets 500 dollars and 10 Hours of studio time with Bill Nieman at Nieman Sound
Three bands took the stage Thursday night Hinged, Rippledome and Aftermath. Hinged came away with the title so they'll be getting the cash and ten hours in the recording studio. I was fortunate enough to be at the Blvd. when Hinged was announced the winner, and the crowed went wild, it was pretty exciting. Keep an eye out for my upcoming interview with that band here on the local entertainment page.
There will be another final round competition in June, and another competition will take place this fall for those bands that didn't get a chance to compete this time.
