Not much expected from Washington, Washington State this year

SPOKANE, Wash. - The pundits aren't expecting much out of Washington's college football teams this coming season - picking Washington and Washington State to bring up the rear of the PAC-10.

In its 2008 college football edition, the Sporting News picked UW to finish 9th in the conference and WSU to finish 10th.

Here's how the Sporting News sees things:

  1. USC
  2. Oregon
  3. Arizona State
  4. UCLA
  5. California
  6. Arizona
  7. Oregon State
  8. Stanford
  9. Washington
  10. Washington State

It also predicts USC will go to the Rose Bowl, Oregon to the Fiesta Bowl, Arizona State to the Holiday Bowl, UCLA to the Sun Bowl, Cal to the Emerald Bowl, Arizona to the Hawaii Bowl and Oregon State to the Las Vegas Bowl.

Washington, Washington State and Stanford would be the league's only teams to stay home from a bowl game.
