Spokane beats Eugene 5-3 to go 15-5 on season

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Indians are on a roll! With a 5-3 win over the Eugene Emeralds on Sunday night at Avista Stadium, the Indians jump to 15-5 on the season and lead the Northwest League East by three games.

It was a home run show in the first two innings as David Paisano, Doug Hogan and Jason Ogata all went yard. Paisano hit a solo shot in the bottom of the 1st and Hogan hit a solo shot in the bottom 2nd. Not to be outdone, second baseman Jason Ogata hit one over the fence to score Ed Koncel and Paisano.

Indians starter Wilfredo Boscan pitched six innings, giving up five hits and two runs, both of which were unearned. With the win, Boscan improves to 5-0 on the season, putting him on pace to win twenty games this season - not an easy feat in the Northwest League. Reliever Tim Murphy picked up the save in three innings of work.

The Indians return to Avista Stadium tomorrow for the fifth and final game of the homestand against Eugene. Tomorrow night is Free Gas Giveaway Night, presented by Washington's Lottery, Zip Trip and 98.1 KISS FM.
