Spokane Shriners Patient Wins ESPY Award

SPOKANE, Wash. - Shay Oberg, a former Spokane Shriners patient of nearly 16 years, won an "ESPY" award Wednesday night for female athlete with a disability.

The 21-year-old, who's missing her left hand, batted .280 for Montana State-Billings this season, with three home runs and 13 runs batted in.

Oberg credits her time at Shriners, and her parents, for helping her believe she can do anything she sets her mind to.

The ESPY awards will be televised on ESPN this weekend.
