New coaster gets stuck at Silverwood

ATHOL, Idaho - The new roller coaster at Silverwood was stuck while loaded with passengers for a few minutes Wednesday night.

The Marketing director of Silverwood tells KHQ that shortly before closing time the new roller coaster the Aftershock was traveling up the second tower when a sensor failed.  The sensor failure caused an automatic safety fail safe to kick in that stops the coaster.

Silverwood maintenance personal put the ride into manual and brought the coaster back to the loading area.

The riders where stuck on the ride for about 5 to 10 minutes before being brought returning and being unloaded.  The Silverwood spokesperson didn't know how many passengers were on the ride, but the coaster seats 32 people.

The ride remained closed for the rest of the evening.  Maintenance crews preformed a test run on the ride without any problems.  The Aftershock will be back up and running when the park opens Thursday morning.

KHQ.COM - Cards Against Humanity is known for unique stunts around this time of year. In years past, in an effort to combat Black Friday, they've had people send them $5 and literally sent nothing in return. Just like they said they would.  They've also mailed people poop in a box. 30,000 bought it.  They've even raised $100,000 to dig a giant hole in the ground.
