It's not a library. . .and it's not a bookstore. But it is a place where organizations can access books to give to young children.

The Success By 6 Children's Book Bank was established in 1997 to promote the importance of reading in shaping the life of a young child. A partnership between the Kiwanis Clubs of Spokane County and Success By 6, the Children's Book Bank has distributed over 100,000 books for children in our community.

The role of the book bank is to provide a book to any child from birth to age 6; to distribute information to parents about the importance of reading to young children and provide suggestions for reading together; and to circulate existing books in the community.

Any agency, group, organization or business can fill out an application and distribute books to children on behalf of the Success By 6 Children's Book Bank. The only requirement is the books must be distributed to children age birth through six in Spokane County.
