Coe loses motion; Doctors say he suffers from depression

SPOKANE, Wash. - Convicted rapist Kevin Coe lost a motion in court Friday, after he requested that he be moved to Eastern State Hospital during his upcoming civil commitment trial.

A judge ruled that he will be housed at the Spokane County Jail instead.

During the hearing it was revealed that Coe is suffering from significant depression. A doctor from the defense team told the court that Coe has been moved to a special unit at McNeill Island.

He said that Coe has not been eating or sleeping, and adds that he has been taking sleeping pills but has been refusing to take antidepressants.

Coe's motion for a change of venue due to pre-trial publicity was also recently denied, after the State argued he failed to establish probable prejudice in the Spokane County venue.

Both sides expect the actual trial could last more than six weeks.

Reconstructing a complete timeline of events means assembling original line-up photos of Kevin Coe and other physical evidence that could get left behind. In all, more than 200 exhibits are expected to be shown during the trial.

Kevin Coe, known as the South Hill Rapist, was convicted of First Degree Rape and sent to prison for 25 years. He was recently released from custody, then taken back into custody pending the upcoming civil commitment hearing to determine whether he should spend the rest of his life behind bars.

I'm more of a dog person, but if there is a place that is willing to pay me to live on an island in Greece and take care of cats, I'll become a feline fanatic.  Well, there is someone offering such a job right now and they claim it's a real opening.  God's Little People Cat Rescue posted on Facebook that they are looking for someone who can look after 55 cats on a little Greek island paradise called Syros.
