Retired Bothell officer testifies at Duncan hearing in Boise

BOISE, Idaho. - A retired Bothell police detective testified Tuesday in Boise at the sentencing hearing that will determine whether Joseph Edward Duncan should be executed.
     
The former officer, Dennis Nizzi, told the jury about the discovery of the bodies of two girls that Duncan has admitted killing. A FBI agent testified yesterday that Duncan confessed to killing half-sisters Sammiejo White and Carmen Cubias.

Duncan was living in Seattle near where the 9- and 11-year-old disappeared in 1996 and working near where their bodies were found months later when an old barn was cleared for a new building in Bothell.
     
Jurors are deciding whether Duncan should be executed for killing a 9-year-old Idaho boy, Dylan Groene. Duncan previously pleaded guilty to killing the boy's brother, mother and
her boyfriend at a home near Coeur d'Alene.
