GSL on KHQ: Mead vs. Lewis & Clark

SPOKANE, Wash. - Week 2 of the GSL on KHQ features a team that played good enough to win last week against one that flat out blew away one of Idaho's top-ranked teams.  Mead, meet the Lewis and Clark Tigers.

The Tigers seemed to take off where they left things last year when they won the State Championship, beating Lake City 39-0, with the first strike coming just seconds into the game:  Vaughn Kapiko ran the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown. It was the worst loss for the Timberwolves since 1996.

The Mead Panthers also won its first-week matchup against Mt. Spokane, but just barely.  The contest was a close one that saw Mt. Spokane threaten to tie the game in the closing seconds, only to come up short as time expired.

Friday's game is the second game of the night at Joe Albi Stadium.  Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. - provided the North Central-East Valley game ends on time.  The game can be heard LIVE on beginning at 7:55 p.m., with play-by-play action provided by veteran Spokane sportscaster Steve Myklebust.
