Lobbestael out for season; Lopina may return to play QB for Cougars

PULLMAN, Wash. - Just ask the Cougars: when it's rained in Pullman this year, it's poured.  The backup to the backup quarterback, who was the starter, will no longer be the starter.  Marshall Lobbestael will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in Washington State's game against Oregon State Saturday.

Lobbestael was thrust into action three games ago because of injuries to Gary Rogers and Kevin Lopina. Rogers is out for the rest of the season.

Who will take Lobbestael's place in the Cougars' game against No. 6 USC on Saturday?  That's the question to which no one has a concrete answer.  However, Lopina was back at practice on Sunday
