Rogers breaks 40 game losing streak over North Central

SPOKANE, Wash. - The runner-up for the KHQ Friday Night Football Game of the Week this week was North Central and Rogers. In what was being dubbed the Battle of the Defeated both teams were in search of their first win this season; the Pirates looking for their first win since 2004.

In the first quarter Rogers was down 7-0 when Cody Peterson broke off on a 70-yard-touchdown run, the first of many big plays for the Pirates and a huge night for the Rogers' offense.

Following Peterson's touchdown Jacob Partridge was all over it with 29 yards for the touchdown taking Rogers to a 14-7 lead which would never be in jeopardy as Partridge follows a little later in the half with 25 yards for another six.

The next touchdown belongs to Peterson bringing the Pirates to a commanding 28-point lead. Right before the half, the Pirates put the game away with a punt return for a touchdown leading them to their first victory since 2004. The Pirates walk off the field snapping their 40 game losing streak and a 49-7 win over North Central.
