MOSCOW, Idaho - Robb Akey thought his team was about to turn a corner. He thought they were playing better - "getting there" as they say. But the Vandals' trip to Ruston, Lousiana finished like all the others: Idaho lost 46-14 to Louisiana Tech and returned home disappointed.
Consistency, Akey said, is what his team needs.
The Vandals managed a mere 239 yards in total offense, but gave up a whopping 556, with more than 330 yards coming on the ground. They actually led the game mid-way through the first quarter, but gave it up for good when the Bulldogs hit a field goal with 2:10 left in the first quarter.
Idaho's next game is at home against New Mexico State Saturday at 2 p.m.
