Cougars picked 6th in PAC10 preseason poll

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State Cougars didn't make it into the Top 25 ESPN/USAToday Coaches Preseason Poll, but don't count them out.  Head Coach Tony Bennett said there is still a lot of unknowns.  And the season hasn't even started yet.

The Cougars are picked to finish 6th in the PAC-10 this season, behind UCLA, Arizona State, USC, Arizona and Washington.  The preseason conference poll reflects the opinion of media members who cover PAC-10 basketball and was released Thursday at the league's annual meeting in Los Angeles.

Washington State returns 5 letter winners from last year's 26-9 team that reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.  Joining four seniors are one junior and 10 first-year players, including freshman DeAngelo Casto from Ferris High School.

The Cougars host Lewis-Clark State in an exhibition game on Nov. 10.  The team starts the regular season Nov. 15 at home against Mississippi Valley State.
