SPOKANE, Wash.- The Joseph Duncan state sentencing Monday morning at 8:30 went as scheduled. The judge handed down three concurrent life sentences.

Following the state sentencing, in Duncan's sentencing in Federal Court, Duncan received 3 additional life sentences as well as four 10 year sentences for the remaining 7 charges. Duncan pled guilty to all of the charges in December 2007 in a plea deal.

Prosecutors are also asking for restitution including $100,000 to cover the cost of future therapy for Shasta Groene.

He's already been sentenced to death in Federal Court for the 2005 kidnapping, sexual exploitation and murder of 9-year-old Dylan Groene, of Coeur d'Alene.

The seven remaining counts include the kidnapping and sexual assault of Dylan's then 8-year-old sister, Shasta, as well as firearms charges and transportation of a stolen vehicle across state lines.

Duncan could still face another trial; prosecutors in Riverside, California say they want Duncan to face murder charges in connection with the killing of 10-year-old Anthony Martinez.  Martinez was kidnapped at knife point in 1997. Forensic experts linked duct tape used in his kidnapping to Duncan.  In January 2007 prosecutors charged Duncan in Martinez's death.

Right now it is not clear if Duncan will be sent to California to face trial for Martinez's death while awaiting the death penalty.

KHQ Local News reporter Tom Durian will be in the Boise courtroom for Duncan's federal sentencing.
