Long lines in Pierce, King counties mean polls stay open late

PIERCE CO., Wash. - So many people are voting on Washington's west side that elections officials are keeping the polls open to accommodate them.

The polls will be open past 8 p.m. in both Pierce and King Counties, two of the state's most populated counties.  They're also counties that tend to vote more Democratic than Republican.

Because the polls will be open later than usual, county officials are warning elections results could be delayed.
