Jury heading to deliberate Jonathan Lytle's fate

SPOKANE, Wash.- Jurors will begin deliberating in the trial of Jonathan Lytle Friday morning at 9 a.m.

These deliberations come after two weeks of testimony about the death of Lytle's daughter, four year-old Summer Phelps.

The jury is charged with deciding whether Jonathan Lytle played a central role in the violence that killed her. Summer's stepmother Adriana Lytle has pleaded guilty to homicide by abuse, avoiding a similar trial.

Adriana is awaiting sentencing after the verdict is read in her husband's trial.

A Spokane county deputy prosecutor called the Lytle's apartment on north Monroe a "torture chamber" where summer was beaten, burned, shocked, and starved.

Jonathan Lytle's defense lawyer has said his client worked long hours to support his family and was gone when most of the abuse occurred.

However, a neighbor testified during the trial that he heard both parents in the bathroom on the night of summer's death.  All of these factors the jury will have to take into account before delivering their verdict.

KHQ.COM - An average house cat weighs between 7-10 pounds but one Spokane woman has a cat whose size is almost unheard of. Out of the corner of your eye, Ollie might be mistaken for a dog... he's that big! Not your normal house cat, Ollie is a Savannah cat, a hybrid breed that's a cross between a serval cat and a domestic cat. So while it's not surprising that he's bigger than a domestic cat, his size is still shocking.
