Eastern upsets Weber State, ends season with winning record
OGDEN, Utah - The Eastern Eagles wrapped up their season on a high note, beating first place Weber State in Ogden over the weekend.
The Eagles got off to a fast start, with Alexis Alexander running into the end zone from short yardage. They led early on 7-0. Later in the first quarter they went up 14-0 on a touchdown pass from Matt Nichols to Aaron Boyce.
Nichols finished the game with 242 yards passing and 2 touchdowns.
The defense played equally as well. In the second half, Kevin Hatch intercepted the Wildcats and ran it in for the score to make the lead 33-7.
Eastern Washington held on to win the game 33-26 and finish the regular season 6-5.
With the loss, Weber state will share the Big Sky title with Montana, which had no trouble beating Montana State.
