Vandals use three-point shooting to crush Hornets - again

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Junior guard Trevor Morris came off the bench to score 15 points, all from behind the arc, to lead Idaho, 72-58, over Sacramento State Monday night.

Brandon Wiley had 19 points and six rebounds, and Mac Hopson added 15 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds for the Idaho Vandals (4-3), who have beaten Sacramento State 11 of the 12 times the teams have met.

Antonio Flaggs had 16 points and eight rebounds, and Justin Eller had 10 points and six rebounds for the Sacramento State Hornets (0-5), who lost their home opener in front of more than 500 fans.

The game was tied 11-11 in the first half until the Vandals made six straight 3-pointers en route to an 18-4 run and a 29-15 lead at the 6:46 mark. Hopson and Morris accounted for all of the Vandals ' 3-pointers during the shooting spree.

The Vandals shot 56 percent (14 of 25) from the field, made 7 of 12 3-pointers and led by as many as 18 points in the first half before taking a 39-28 halftime lead.

The Vandals biggest lead in the second half came on a basket by Wiley to make the score 70-53 with 2:11 left.
