Klay Thompson scored 14-points in the Cougars' win over Idaho State on Tuesday night
PULLMAN, Wash. - What better way to get over a loss to a Top 5 team than to take out your frustrations on a less-experienced Big Sky team? The Cougars did that, dismantling Idaho State 60-41 Tuesday night in Pullman.
Washington State took control of the game early on, with Klay Thompson hitting a 3-point shot to put the Cougars up by 4 in the first half. Thompson was 5-of-8 from the field for 14 points, including 2-of-4 from behind the 3-point line.
Taylor Rochestie added 9 points and 5 assists for the Cougars and helped his team build a 15-point lead over the Bengals at halftime.
The outcome of the game was never in doubt for Washington State. They held Idaho State without a field goal for more than 12 minutes in the second half.
Aaron Baynes finished with 11 points for the Cougars, and former Ferris star DeAngelo Casto had eight rebounds and three steals.
The Bengals' leading scorer, Demetrius Monroe only managed to score 2 points.
The Cougars' next game is Saturday in Pullman against Baylor, followed by a matchup on Dec. 10 against Gonzaga.
