Gonzaga Prep's big men too much for Central Valley
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Gonzaga Prep was just too big for the Central Valley Bears Friday night. The Bullpups easily beat Central Valley 65-41 Friday night in a game that - well - wasn't the prettiest one ever played.
Gonzaga Prep took advantage of the Bears' smaller size, out-muscling and out-rebounding them 35 to 23. Many of those rebounds were of the offensive type, grabbed by 6'7" junior Ryan Nicholas. Nicholas scored 12 of his 15 points in the first half.
Prep's senior 6'1" guard Sean Fischer led all scorers with 16, nine of which came in the second half.Central Valley had a hard enough time just holding onto the ball, committing turnover after turnover, after missed shot after missed shot. Michael Williams, the Bears newly converted point guard, led the team in scoring with 13 points.
