Couple displaced after fire on East Wellesley
SPOKANE, Wash. - A couple lost their home Sunday after a fire destroyed their mobile home at 19625 E. Wellesley.
Firefighters said the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. They said it started when the owner tried to thaw out a frozen pipe with a small propane torch.
The couple was able to make it out of the mobile home safely. Their dogs, too, escaped injury. The Red Cross has stepped in to offer assistance.
Firefighters said you should never try to thaw pipes with a torch. Instead, prevent them from freezing by letting a small stream of water flow from the faucet.
