Mead ends losing streak with blowout win over North Central
SPOKANE, Wash. - It just wasn't North Central's night. The Indians, holding onto third place in the Greater Spokane League, couldn't shake whatever shook them and lost Friday night's game against Mead 51-35.
The Panthers used a stifling full-court press throughout the game to take North Central out of their off normal offense. In the process, they all but shut down the Indians' leading scorer, Nathan Pelton. The 6'3" senior forward scored 11 points, about 4 short of his per-game average. And most of Pelton's points came in the closing minutes of the game when Mead had it all but won.
Mead's leading scorer, Grant Fink led the Panthers in scoring with 12. Bo Tully added 11 points. Jacob Midtlyng scored just once, taking the ball off an Indians turnover and slamming it down with one hand on the fast break.
The win over the Indians meant Mead snapped its 3-game losing streak. They improve their record to 6-7, while North Central falls to 7-6.
