Aaron Roberts (WR) signed a letter of intent to play football for the Montana Grizzlies
James Matern committed to play soccer for Gonzaga University
SPOKANE, Wash. - Two Ferris Saxons said Wednesday they'll play at the next level next year, signing letters of intent to play at regional universities.
Standout wide receiver Aaron Roberts announced he'll play for the Montana Grizzlies next year. Roberts was named First Team All-4A this past season, along with Skyline's Gino Simone, who's committed to play at Washington State.
Making the decision to play in Missoula was not a hard one to make, Roberts said.
"I've had a lot of family play at Montana. And they're a good football program - obviously. They went to the national championship this year," he said.
Roberts said the Grizzlies have always been his number one choice.
And while he won't be playing American-style football, James Matern will be playing football of a different sort next year. Matern signed a letter of intent to play soccer for Gonzaga, citing the combination of a good coach and great city.
