Chiefs leading scorer earns Player of the Week honors
TORONTO, Ont.- Take a bow, Drayson Bowman. The 19-year-old forward for the Spokane Chiefs was named the CHL Player of the Week after scoring five goals and five assists for 10 points and three wins this past week. He had a plus-minus rating of +6.
Bowman started his week scoring a goal and two assists in Spokane's 9-1 win over the Everett Silvertips. Then on Friday, he scored his fourth career hat trick with two more assists for a five point night . He ended the week on Saturday, scoring a goal and an assist against the Kootenay Ice. The Chiefs won that game 6-0.
Bowman, a 19-year-old player from Littleton, Colorado, is in his fourth WHL season with the Chiefs. He currently leads the team in scoring with 25 goals and 27 assists for 52 points in 40 games. He's helped his team win 11 straight games, one shy of the club record. He was selected in the 2007 NHL entry draft by the Carolina Hurricanes in the third round - 72nd overall.
