Mead scores big in second half to beat rival Mt. Spokane

MEAD, Wash. - Mead's Erik Hanson erupted for 18 points and the Panthers held the second-leading scorer in the GSL to just 10 points to beat Mt. Spokane 51-46 in the annual Pack the Palace rivalry game Thursday night.
Hanson, who averages 10 points per game, scored 12 in the second half. He ended with a game-high 18 points, eclipsing Mt. Spokane's Chaz Johnson, the second leading scorer in the GSL.
Mead's defense held Johnson to just 10 points. Connor Haley scored 12 for the Wildcats (7-10).
The win puts Mead (9-9) in 5th place in the GSL.
Shadle 66, Ferris 50 Anthony Brown scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers in the Highlanders' win over Ferris. Taylor Petterson added 10 for Shadle. Connor Halliday and Jason Bates both scored 13 for the Saxons.
Central Valley 52, Rogers 50 Central Valley's Brad Whitley hit a 3-pointer with :08 remaining in the game to lift Central Valley past North Central. Jesse Vaughn, the GSL's leading scorer had a chance to win the game, but missed the shot to tie or win.

Lewis & Clark 50, East Valley 42 The winning streak continues for the Lewis & Clark. Jeneva Anderson scored 12 points in the Tigers' win over East Valley. It was LC's 51st consecutive win.
