Have you heard of Project Share? It's a program that provides a one-time emergency support to assist those in need with energy costs. If you find yourself in a position where you can't afford to pay for heat, regardless of your energy source, Project Share can help!
So far this heating season (Oct. - March) 486 Households received grants from Project Share for a total of $116,608 dispersed.
There is still a long way to go in this heating season and you can help. Have you ever noticed the request for donations on your energy bill? You can add a dollar amount to your payment that goes to helping those in need. Project Share counts on donations from energy customers, employees and companies to fund this program. In fact, Avista Utilities has partnered with Craven's Coffee and Simply Northwest in offering special Project Share products, from which a percentage of the proceeds go to helping our neighbors keep warm! Visit their website (https://www.avistautilities.com/community/assistance/pages/share.aspx) for more information and to find out how you can receive or give assistance.
