Man douses home with gasoline

SPOKANE, Wash.- A 40 year old man is behind bars tonight after authorities say he ransacked his girlfriend's home near Greenacres, doused it with gasoline, then tried to set it on fire by putting paper on a stove. That paper never ignited. this all happened last weekend but Rodney Holder was just arrested Friday night after getting into a car crash on Sprague and Pines.

After the crash Holder fled on foot and was pursued by a man who witnessed the incident.  Police were able to identify Holder as the man who fled the scene and set up a perimeter around the area.  A K-9 unit was also brought in to assist the search.

The search was called off after a couple of hours when police were informed that Holder somehow managed to get to Sacred Heart Medical Center where he received a few stitches and was arrested by Spokane Police.

Holder was charged with first degree arson and malicious mischief and booked into the Spokane county Jail Friday night.
