ACH Boys Wins and Moves to Semifinals
YAKIMA, Wash. - Derek Isaak scored 26 points and hit seven 3-pointers to lead second-ranked Almira/Coulee-Hartline past Tulalip Heritage 57-50 in a Class 1B boys state quarterfinal game Thursday.
The Warriors (21-4) will face Tri-Cities Prep (19-6) in Friday's semifinals. ACH took an early lead and never surrendered it. The advantage grew to 18 points late in the third quarter before Tulalip powered back with a 19-5 run that cut the score to 54-50 with 1:54 to play. The Hawks couldn't get closer.
Cody Jess chipped in 11 points for the Warriors, and Garrett Jess and Kyle Tucker each pulled down seven rebounds. Lesjar McKinney paced Tulalip Heritage (21-3) with 20 points and eight rebounds. He scored 15 points in the second half, and keyed the Hawks' rally with 12 of those points.
