Home burglary suspect nabbed after police foot pursuit

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police officers Caught a residential Burglary suspect after a foot Pursuit Wednesday night.   At 7:11 pm, Spokane Police Officers responded to a report of a Burglary in progress in the E. 600 block of Cozza.  A neighbor had reported seeing a male kicking in the front door of a unoccupied house.

Officers Erin Raleigh, Alexis Kester, and Ben Green arrived on scene within minutes and discovered both the front and back door had been kicked in.  They could also hear the suspect moving around inside the house.  While they were waiting for the arrival of a Police K-9, the burglar bolted out the front door and ran west along Cozza.  All officers gave chase on foot.   The supect ran in and out of yards southbound on Dakota and was eventually caught and then arrested at the intersection of Dakota and Sitka.

Officers discovered a two-way radio on the suspect.  Officers then discovered from the complainant that there may have been a second suspect acting as a look-out.  A Police K-9 searched the residence and surrounding area for the possible second suspect, but did not locate him.  A pillowcase with items from the house was recovered along the route the suspect ran.

Police arrested 24 year-old Jesse W. Moore for Residential Burglary, obstructing, and resisting arrest.  When officers placed Moore inside a police car, he began violently pounding his head against the windows and would not stop.  Police put Moore in leg restraints  for his safety and then transported and booked him into the Spokane County Jail on all of his charges.
