Too cold for baseball: Gonzaga postpones series with U-Dub
SPOKANE, Wash. - Apparently it's cold outside. Too cold. It's cold enough, in fact that Gonzaga announced Monday it's two-game baseball series with Washington would be postponed.
Snow and ice covered the field at Gonzaga's campus Monday morning as another winter storm whipped through the Inland Northwest. Forecasters are calling for more snow and even colder temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday when the games were scheduled to have been played.
Instead, the Bulldogs and Huskies will meet each other April 6-7. They'll play each other again Mar. 31-Apr. 1 in Seattle, then return to Spokane the following week for another two-game series.
This weekend, the Bulldogs host Utah Valley University for a four-game series beginning 6:30 p.m. Friday. A double-header will start noon on Saturday, with a final game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
