SPOKANE, Wash. - Need help filing your tax return? If so, then you should look into attending 'Super Saturday' at the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center in Spokane to get free help.

The TAC will be open Saturday, March 21 and will be staffed with IRS employees that can assist you in the following areas:

  • Preparing basic tax returns for those who qualify for EITC or those whose income is less than $42,000
  • Resolving tax issues
  • Answering tax law questions
  • Making account adjustments
  • Accepting payments
  • Establishing payment plans for those who can't pay taxes in full
  • Providing tax forms

Nearly 12,000 free tax preparation sites will be open nationwide this year as the Internal Revenue Service continues to expand its partnerships with nonprofit and community organizations performing vital tax preparation services for low-income and elderly taxpayers.

The Tax Counseling for the Elderly Program offers free tax help to taxpayers who are 60 and older.

The IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center in Spokane will be open from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on 'Super Saturday.'

    PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police in Oregon say two people died and another was hurt in a stabbing on a Portland light-rail train after a man yelled racial slurs at two young Muslim women. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports officers arrested a man Friday afternoon who ran from the train.  Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson says the assailant on the train was ranting on many topics, using "hate speech or biased language," and turned his focus on the women.

(AP) - A driver could be facing a $10,000 bill after he plowed into newly poured concrete in Lincoln, Nebraska, and became stuck.      The accident occurred Wednesday on a portion of a road repair project in the state capital. Police spokeswoman Angela Sands said Friday that police won't cite the driver, 19-year-old Shadrach Yasiah. A police incident report says it wasn't obvious that the concrete wasn't dry and that Yasiah
