Idaho man says wife threw herself from car

TWIN FALLS, Idaho. - A central Idaho man says he was driving his wife to a hospital for psychological treatment when she threw herself out the car and was fatally struck by a Lincoln County sheriff's vehicle.

Police say 29-year-old Terra Mussaw died from her injuries at a Twin Falls hospital on Saturday.

Christopher Mussaw says his wife had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and they had been married for nearly a year.

Idaho State Police are investigating the death.

Authorities say the passenger door of the car flew open and Terra Mussaw fell out of the Dodge Neon on U.S. Highway 93, where she was hit by a Lincoln County sheriff's vehicle traveling behind the couple.

Police say reserve deputy Mike Bright swerved, but still hit the woman.
