Highlanders fizzle, lose to top-seeded Franklin

TACOMA, Wash. - Well, Shadle's run was good while it lasted.  Their bumpy road to the State 3A finals ended Wednesday morning almost as quickly as it started, losing to top-seeded Franklin 67-42.

Franklin's Vonchae Richardson made 6-of-9 3-pointers and scored 24 points.  He told the Tacoma News Tribune, "I made the first two and then just started to get hot."

The TNT said Franklin jumped out to a 14-4 lead by the end of the first quarter.  They led Shadle 42-15 at haltime.

Anthony Brown led the Highlanders with 16 points.

Shadle gets pushed into the consolation side of the bracket, and will meet up with Lakes High School Thursday at 9 a.m.  Lakes lost 75-87 to Seattle Prep in Wednesday's 10:30 game.
