TACOMA, Wash. - Shadle Park had Thursday's consolation game all but won. It's that "but won" part that's the problem. The Highlanders dropped their second game of the 3A tournament 72-64 in overtime to a young Lakes team.
Anthony Brown scored a game-high 29 points for the Highlanders, but had the ball stolen from him on his way to tying the game at 64 in the overtime period, reported the Tacoma News Tribune. That allowed the Lancers to complete their comeback and steal the game , even with their star player fouled out of the game.
Danny Martinez led Lakes with 19 points, including four 3-pointers. Cedric Dozier added 11.
Shadle head coach Tim Gaebe told the TNT his team had the game won, "but gave it away."
