Rogers makes a comeback, Shadle girls keep on winning

TACOMA, Wash. - The girls team from Shadle Park just keeps on winning.  The Highlanders pounded Prairie Thursday afternoon 52-39 to advance to the semifinal round of the 3A state tournament.  They play Holy Names Friday at 7 p.m.

Kendra Knutsen scored a team-high14 points in the Highlanders win.  Aleisha Hathaway and Bianca Pope both scored 10.  Shadle held prairie to just 8 points in the final quarter


Rogers 68, Capital 59
TACOMA - Roger High School's boys team defeated Capital 68-59 in the consolation bracket of the 3A state tournament in Tacoma.  The Pirates used a 15-4 run at the end of the third quarter to put the game out of reach for Capital, which played in its first state tournament since 1996.

The Pirates were appearing in their first state game since 1975.  They continue playing in the consolation bracket, meeting Foster Friday at 12:30 p.m.
