LEWISTON, Idaho - An albino deer was spotted in an area east of Lewiston.

Resident Crystal Moose was able to snap a couple of pics of the deer from a distance. The deer appeared young and had dark-tipped ears, but was otherwise a snowy white.

According to an article from National Geographic, albinism occurs in mammals when one or more mutated genes is inherited from a parent, which interfere with the production of pigment in skin, fur and eyes.
