There was a rodeo in town on Saturday, but there were no horses or cowboys involved.
The Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board hosted the 19th annual Forklift Rodeo Saturday afternoon. Forklift drivers from around the region competed for cash and prizes . They ran their lifts through obstacle courses, attempting to clock the fastest time.
The first place finisher in the Eastern Regional competition took home a cool $300, while second place walked away with $200 and third place netted a hundred bucks. Other finishers brought home $50 apiece.
Following the Western Regional in Kent in August, the Spokane Convention Center will play host to the State Championship at the end of September.
