Race Founder Don Kardong says 47,505 people ran in the race this year. About the event he said it was rather notable to see the elite mens' record broken after so many years.
An official injury report has not yet been released but it was a challenging year for many people in terms of the heat. Kardong says the medical tents received alot of attention.
Organizer Mark Star said it was one of the "best-run and well-attended Bloomsday events" to date and was "a phenomenal weekend for both organizers and participants."

21-year old Micah Kogo won the Mens' Elite competition in record time. 20-year old Lineth Chepkurui of Kenya is the new Womens' Elite champion.
44-year old Aaron Gordian of Mexico City has won the men's wheelchair race, ending Saul Mendoza's 10-year victory streak.
