Coeur d'Alene man arrested after morning SWAT standoff

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office reports a 41-year-old Coeur d'Alene man was arrested Monday morning after a SWAT standoff near Rockford Bay.

Deputies were called to a domestic disturbance report around 5:50 a.m. in the 13000 block of S. Bellgrove Road. Based on information deputies got on the scene, the Kootenai County Multi-Agency SWAT team was called in as a precaution.

Once on scene, members of the SWAT team were able to quickly ensure the safety of people living in the area, and establish contact with the suspect, identified as Seth D. Farwell. A short time later, Farwell was safely taken into custody. Due to the somewhat remote location of the incident,  additional resources were called to assist. The Spokane Police Department, Post Falls Police Department, Spokane County Sheriff's Office and Worley Fire District all responded to the call.

Farwell was arrested for domestic battery and for resisting and obstructing arrest. He was also charged with the intentional destruction of a telecommunications device.

Additional details weren't immediately available Monday.
