A couple witnesses absolute horror while out on a walk Saturday evening in the Emerson-Garfield neighborhood.
Wesley O’Dell and his wife found a dead kitten on the side of the road, under a pair of shorts.
“To come across something like this less than a block and a half away from our house it's just wrong,” O’Dell says.
They noticed flies buzzing above a pair of shorts.
“It wound up being a little kitten about that big, just wrapped up in phone cords and chargers. It was wrapped so tightly its paw was up along its face and the jaw was ripped down,” O’Dell says.
Some pieces of those cables are still lying in the road.
“It's just disgusting,” O’Dell says. “It makes me sick to my stomach that somebody would do something like that.”
For him, it’s not just as a pet owner, but as an animal rights advocate too, that he wants justice for this kitten.
“I hope whoever did it gets caught,” he says.
They have reported it to SCRAPS and SCRAPS is investigating. If you have any information on what may have happened to this kitten, call SCRAPS at 509-477-2532.
