The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office and Idaho State Police are investigating a rollover crash that left two people dead early Sunday morning.
Deputies with the sheriff's office say the crash happened just after midnight on U.S. Forest Service Road 250 about three miles up river from the Bungalow Bridge, in the area of Sprague Creek in Clearwater County, Idaho.
The vehicle came to rest on its top in the north fork of the Clearwater River. Three people were inside. One person was able to escape the crash and was taken to an area hospital, where they were later released. The other two people died at the scene. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.
The Clearwater County dive team was working to recover the vehicle and the people inside Sunday morning.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Further information is expected to be released after the investigation is complete.
